    摘要: A magazine (20) and compact feed mechanism for firearms includes an end cap (16) on the magazine (20) to keep cartridges (24) from falling out and a stop mechanism for preventing a rotating cartridge transfer disk (202) from traveling beyond 90 degrees. The magazine (20) is placed in a horizontal position so that it is parallel to the barrel (204) and includes an end cap (16) that is shaped to prevent cartridges (24) from inadvertently falling out of the magazine (20). Cartridges (24) from the magazine (20) are delivered to a rotatable transfer disk (202) by an injector arm (110) driven by the recoil of the slide mechanism (134). A rotatable cartridge transfer disk (202) is also driven by the recoil of the slide mechanism (134) and functions to receive the cartridge from the horizontal magazine (20) and rotate it 90 degrees so as to present it properly to the breech mechanism so that it can be presented to the barrel (204).
