摘要： The present invention is directed to a rolling protective shutter (10) having improved shutter tracks (72). The improved shutter tracks (72) according to the present invention include an improved stopping mechanism (92) that prevents the shutter (30) from completely rolling up onto the shutter support member (20), provides for adjustment of the position where the shutter (30) will stop as the shutter (30) is rolled up onto the shutter support member (20), and is hidden within the shutter tracks (72). The improved shutter tracks (72) according to the present invention further include an improved cover assembly for use in concealing angle brackets (104) and the associated attachment hardware (110, 112) when a shutter track (100) is angle mounted to a wall (102) or jamb. The cover assembly completely encloses the angle bracket (104) to give the shutter track (100) and, consequently, the rolling protective shutter (10) a finished appearance after installation.

摘要： A slat for use in a rolling shutter is provided. The slat comprises a hooking track located at a first edge of a body and a receiving track located at a second edge of the body. Illustratively, the hooking track has a hook-shaped profile, and the receiving track comprises a lip member and a guard member defining a space adapted to receive therein an engaging track of an adjacent slat. The hooking track and the receiving track are designed to minimize the space required for the rolling shutter to be retracted around a spindle.

摘要： A rolling shutter assembly (80) having a shutter support member (20) and a shutter (82) coupled to the shutter support member (20). The shutter (82) has a plurality of individual slats (84) and a plurality of hinges (86) interconnecting the slats (82). Each of the slats (84) has a pair of end portions, and the slats (84) include a first set of slats (84a) and a second set of slats (84b), each of the slats (84) in the first and second sets being alternated so that each of the hinges (86) is connected to one of the slats (84) in the first set and one of the slats (84) in the second set. The shutter (82) further includes a plurality of extension members (104) extending from the slats (84) and/or the hinges (86). The shutter assembly (80) has a pair of shutter tracks (40) and a shutter rolling mechanism (42) adapted to roll the shutter (82) from an extended position in which the end portions of the slats (84) are disposed in the shutter tracks (40) to a retracted position in which the shutter (82) is rolled up on the shutter support member (20). The shutter tracks (40) further include guide channels (64) and guide members (62) which cause the extension members (104) to be disposed within the guide channels (64) to cause the slats (84) in the first set of slats to occupy a first relative position and the slats (84) in the second set of slats to occupy a second relative position while the shutter (82) is being unrolled.
