摘要： A method of verifying, based on a handwritten master signature (27) on a signature accepting structure such as paper, the authenticity of a handwritten sample signature (28), the master signature being a master indentation line (20a) and the sample signature being a sample indentation line (20b) on the signature accepting structure, wherein the method comprises the steps of: providing a light source (9), providing a camera (6) with an objective (7) configured to magnify the image of at least a segment of the signature, providing a fixation means (1) for fixing the signature accepting structure on or at the fixation means, the fixation means being spaced apart from the objective (7), obtaining a plurality of master images represented by master data at a plurality of master subareas of interest (SAOIs) along the master indentation line (20a) of the master signature (27) using the camera (6) to provide at least a part of a representation of the master signature, analysing the obtained master data to obtain a plurality of master parameters of the plurality of master SAOIs of the master signature, obtaining a plurality of sample images represented by sample data at a plurality of sample SAOIs along the sample indentation line (20b) of the sample signature (28) using the camera to provide at least a part of a representation of the sample signature, analysing the obtained sample data to obtain a plurality of sample parameters of the plurality of sample SAOIs of the sample signature, and comparing the obtained plurality of master and sample parameters to verify the authenticity of the handwritten sample signature (28).
