Provided is a cathode material which becomes an alternative material of a cathode material formed of a W-ThO 2 alloy and is formed of a tungsten alloy that does not include thorium which is a radioactive element. When particles of a rare earth oxide and tungsten carbide are finely dispersed in a tungsten cathode material used as a discharge cathode material used in TIG, plasma spraying, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining, discharge lamps and the like, reduction and diffusion of the rare earth oxide are accelerated, and supply of rare earth elements to a cathode surface is ensured, thereby improving discharge characteristics.

A composite material which comprises an elastomer or vulcanized rubber and particles of a high-density material, such as tungsten, evenly dispersed therein, wherein the contents of the elastomer or vulcanized rubber and the high-density particles are 35 to 50 vol. % and 50 to 65 vol. %, respectively, based on the whole composite material, and the high-density particles have a particle composition comprising 60 to 80 vol.% coarse particles having a particle diameter of 10 to 100 µm, 10 to 20 vol.% medium particles having a particle diameter of 3 to 6 µm, and 10 to 20 vol.% fine particles having a particle diameter of 1 to 2 µm, the spaces among the coarse particles being filled with the medium particles and fine particles. The composite material is excellent in flexibility and processability and is suitable for use as a radiation-shielding sheet material, weight member, vibration-damping material, balancing member, radiating material, and shot material.

A sub-nozzle for an air injection type weaving machine is provided which produces no fluffing which would be produced when it contacts warps and which is easy to manufacture and maintain. The sub-nozzle for injecting high-speed air flow for acceleration toward a weft emitted from a main nozzle between warps is constituted by a holder (2) connected to a compressed air supply source side and a nozzle head (1) connected to this holder (2), and at least the nozzle head is monolithically molded from a high strength glass system material, whereby damage to warps and wear of the nozzle head is prevented by its smooth surface.

A flat PTC heater according to the present invention is formed by bonding one or a plurality of thin plate type PTC ceramic members (1) on a surface of each of which a pair of electrodes are provided to an insulator (3). When more than one thin plate type PTC ceramic members (1) are provided, electrodes (2) of the same polarity are electrically parallel-connected by lead wires (6). The occurrence of warpage, leakage and short-circuiting is prevented by forming a layer (4) of an elastic insulating material on an electrode-carrying surface. The occurence of warpage after printing and firing operations is prevented by setting the thickness of the thin plate type PTC ceramic member to not less than 0.5 mm. In the resistance value regulating method according to the present invention, in which the resistance between the electrodes (2) on each PTC ceramic member (1) on the flat PTC heater is regulated, a conductive passage on an electrode pattern is cut off at an intermediate portion thereof, or predetermined portions (8) at which a conductive passage has been cut off in advance are connected by soldering, whereby the resistance between the PTC ceramic members is regulated. In a thin PTC plate unit according to the present invention, a PTC thermistor element having a pair of electrodes on one surface thereof is fixed directly and closely on an insulating board, and an insulating board is pasted on the other surface of the thermistor element.

This invention relates to a water jet nozzle applicable to a high-speed loom. A weft thread feeder in a conventional water jet nozzle for a loom consists of hardened steel at best, and a water jet current straightening stabilizer in such a water jet nozzle is formed out of a resin in many cases. When such a conventional water jet nozzle is used for a high-speed loom, the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of these parts proves to be insufficient, and these parts do not stand long. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a water jet nozzle for looms, which has a high wear resistance and a high corrosion resistance and an excellent high-speed stability. To achieve this object, the present invention provides a water jet nozzle for looms, in which a member, which consists of an orifice and a stabilizer formed integrally out of a material of a high hardness and a high corrosion resistance, is incorporated, a needle formed out of a material of a high hardness and a high corrosion resistance being also incorporated in the water jet nozzle. The present invention is effectively used, especially in a superhigh-speed loom.

This invention relates to an auxiliary nozzle for a loom which jets a pressurized gas in order to prevent the slowdown of a weft to be crossed with warp and to a method of producing the same. At least the tip of an auxiliary nozzle body is composed of an integrally molded ceramic material having extremely small surface coarseness, high tenacity and high strength, which makes it possible to remarkably reduce the occurrence of damage to the warp and to obtain a high quality woven product. Particularly when zirconia ceramic is employed, the moldability and durability of the nozzle can be improved drastically. Further when partially stabilized zirconia is used as a matrix, the moldability, borability and wear resistance can be improved and a high precision auxiliary nozzle can be obtained.
