摘要： An amusement ride assembly 100 includes a rotatable endless loop cable 101 spanning between end stations 102, 103 and a drive system operable to rotate the loop cable 101. A passenger carrier 104 is suspended from the cable and includes a roller mechanism 300 to enable the passenger carrier to free-roll along the cable 101 and an associated clamping mechanism 400 to alternatively fix the passenger carrier 104 to the cable 101. A control system may control the drive system and to enable actuation of the clamping mechanism 400 to fix the passenger carrier 104 to the cable 101 when the carrier 104 is at a position along the cable remote from the end stations 102, 103.
