摘要： A method of forming a decorative candle (10) is disclosed. The method comprises providing a candle (10) within a container (12) which is fabricated from a wax material (26) that defines a top surface (30). Next, a source of heat is applied to the candle until at least that portion of the wax (26) which defines the top surface (30) thereof is melted. Then at least one gelatinous component (34) formed from a mineral oil gel is placed onto the top surface (30) such that the component is at least partially inserted into the molten wax (26). The candle (10) is allowed to cool thereby hardening the molten wax (26) and securing the gelatinous component (34). The melting point of the gelatinous component (34) is higher than the melting point of the wax (26) such that the component will not melt when placed upon the molten wax.

摘要： A decorative candle display and a method for its manufacture. The display includes a container with an open top and an interior wall surface and a core candle with an exposed wick situated within the container. Core candle size and placement is such that a chamber is formed between the candle and the wall surface, and a candle wax material filler is disposed within the chamber. A colored gelatinous structure is disposed on top of the core candle and has a substantially vertical aperture through which the wick, extending from the core candle, resides for ignitable exposure above the gel structure. Fabrication methodology includes application of heat to the gelatinous structure to round any pointed border portions thereof and to imbue a sheen to the structure as an inherent heat-induced reaction occurs in the gelatinous material for such sheen production. The decorative candle display here defined provides an aesthetically pleasing contribution by visually combining flame color with gelatinous-structure hues as the candle burns.

Disposed within the interior chamber is a candle core (20) sized relative to the container such that a cavity is formed between the candle core and the container. At least one component (30) is disposed within the cavity in abutting contact with the candle core and the container. The component (30) is encapsulated by a mixture (32) that has a melting point lower than the candle core (20) and the component such that neither the candle core (20) nor the component (30) melt when the molten mixture is poured within the cavity. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the candle core (20) is a paraffin wax candle core and the mixture (32) is a paraffin/petrolatum mixture. Furthermore, the component (30) may be a gelatinous component formed from a mineral oil gel.

The top layer partially encapsulates the component and the wick. Preferably, the top layer has a melting point lower than the melting point of the component such that the component will not melt when the top layer is poured into the container.
