Each cell (131) defines a cell opening (132) therethrough and the cell opening (132) of each of the plurality of cells (131) at least partially receives the thermal barrier layer (120) therein. The abradable layer (140) and the thermal barrier layer (120) are at least partially removable from the mesh layer (130) and the bond layer (110) without damaging them.

摘要: Battery packs 100, which may be used in vehicles including aircraft 10, 20, are disclosed. One such battery pack 100 comprises: a plurality of cylindrical battery cells 101, each one of the plurality of cells 101 having a cylindrical outer cell wall 1010 that extends in a z-direction between opposed first and second ends of the cell 1011, 1012; a carrier structure 112 that locates the battery cells 101 relative to one another and arranges them in an array 1000 in an x-y plane perpendicular to the z-direction; and a plurality of barriers 102 for preventing propagation of thermal runaway between cells 101 of the array 1000, each one of the plurality of barriers 102 forming a barrier wall 1020 that surrounds a group of one or more of the cells 101. A gap is defined between the barrier wall 1020 of each respective barrier 102 and the outer cell wall 1010 of each of the respective one or more cells 101 enclosed by the respective barrier. The gap 103 may be sized to reduce a likelihood of a cell failure propagating to other cells 101 of the array 1000.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a hydraulic fuse (30) comprising: a fuse body (32) defining a plenum (34), the plenum comprising: an inlet (35) configured to couple to a first fluid location (37); and an outlet (36) configured to couple to a second fluid location (38). The hydraulic fuse further comprises a first fuse element (39) arranged to close the inlet, the first fuse element configured to open the inlet when a pressure differential between the first fluid location and the plenum reaches a first threshold; and a second fuse element (40) arranged to close the outlet, the second fuse element configured to open the outlet when a pressure differential between the plenum and the second fluid location reaches a second threshold, wherein the first threshold is higher than the second threshold. In an inactive state, the inlet is closed by the first fuse element and the outlet is closed by the second fuse element to prevent fluid flow through the plenum; and in an active state, the pressure differential between the first fluid location and the plenum reaches the first threshold to cause the first fuse element to open and permit fluid flow through the inlet, and the pressure differential between the plenum and the second fluid location reaches the second threshold to cause the second fuse element to open and permit fluid flow through the outlet.

摘要: There is provided a method for scanning of an object in a scanning apparatus. The method comprises placing the object into a jacket which surrounds the object or a part of the object to be scanned. The volume of the jacket surrounding the object is solid or filled with a filling material. The jacket is disposed on a support of the scanning apparatus, so that the jacket is positioned between an imaging beam emitting element and an imaging beam receiving element oppositely disposed to either side of the support. The support is rotatable relative to the emitting and receiving elements about an axis of rotation to allow creation of an image from projections each taken at a different relative angle of rotation. The method further comprises operating the scanning apparatus at the multiple relative angles of rotation to produce an image of the object.
