The airfoil wall (62) includes an exterior monolithic ceramic shell (64) and an interior CMC liner (66) that has CMC plies (66a, 66b, 66c, 66d). An outermost ply (66d) of the CMC plies (66a, 66b, 66c, 66d) forms tabs (68) that are raised from an underlying ply (66c) so as to define a slot (70). The exterior monolithic ceramic shell (64) includes an underlapping shell piece (76, 78) and an overlapping shell piece (72, 74). The underlapping shell piece (76, 78) has a portion disposed in the slot (70) and bonded with the tabs (68). The overlapping shell piece (72, 74) extends over the tabs (68) and is bonded to the tabs (68). There are channels (82) bounded by adjacent ones of the tabs (68), the underlapping shell piece (76, 78), and the overlapping shell piece (72, 74). Channel orifices (82a) through the CMC liner (66) connect the cavity (63) and the channels (82).

摘要： In one aspect, a seal plate (124) for a rotary machine includes a hub (218) centered on a central axis and a disk portion extending radially outward from the hub (218). The hub (218) and the disk portion include a plastic substrate and metal plating disposed on at least apportion of an outer surface of the plastic substrate. The plastic substrate has a matrix material and fibers embedded in the matrix material. The fibers have a first coefficient of thermal expansion. The metal plating has a second coefficient of thermal expansion. The fibers are selected such that a bulk coefficient of thermal expansion of the plastic substrate at the outer surface of the plastic substrate substantially matches the second coefficient of thermal expansion of the metal plating.
