摘要： A parting off blade (1) for use in combination with a parting off machine, lathe or the like, which comprises a free front end for cutting a sample (2). The cutoff blade (1) has a shape that at least partially includes an increased thickness in the direction opposite to said free front end. In a first preferred embodiment, a first cutting insert (11) is mounted at the free front end and a second cutting insert (15) is provided behind the first cutting insert (11). The second cutting insert (15) may be mounted such that it is moveable along the blade (1). In another preferred embodiment (see figure 3) a cutting insert (3) having a front part (32) with a width less than a rear part (31) is mounted at the free end of the blade (1).
