摘要:
A nail, especially suitable for use with magazine-fed nailing machine, comprises a shank (12; 32) of oval cross-sectional shape and, at one end thereof, a head (16; 36). The head (16; 36) projects transversely to the shank (12; 32) except at one side at least thereof, specifically at a position of intersection of a minor axis plane with a notional geometric extension of the shank periphery. Such a head configuration allows a plurality of the nails to be collated in a strip, with their minor axes aligned with the plane of the strip, for use with a magazine-fed nailing machine. In a so-called "T" headed nail, the head (16) comprises an elongate portion having limbs (18; 20) projecting from the shank in the direction of the major axis. In a so-called "D" headed nail, the head (36) is an incomplete disc configured to permit collation of a plurality of the nails with shanks abutting and heads overlapping in stepped relation.
摘要:
There is disclosed a nail (10) ofT-configuration having an elongate shank (12) of oval cross-sectional shape having major (22) and minor (24) transverse axes and a head (16) projecting laterally from the shank by a greater extent in both directions along the major axis than along the minor axis. There is also disclosed a method of making such a nail.
