摘要： Article indentification means are provided for sensing and deciphering signals emanating from, for example, labels such as barcode labels. The identification means includes sensing means (19) having a plurality of discrete sensing zones (21) each adapted to detect a portion or portions of the label (11). Deciphering means (20) are associated with the sensing means to decipher the label irrespective of alignment of the signal with the sensing means.
