摘要： There is provided a bed-couch (105) including an upper supporting surface for receiving a person. The bed-couch (105) is operable to provide a flexible support characteristic at the upper surface for supporting the person. The bed-couch (105) comprises an array of spatially distributed spring elements (220) for providing the flexible support characteristic, the array of distributed spring elements (220) having mutual spatial separations which are adjustable for affecting in operation a continuously-variable adjustment of the flexible support characteristic. Adjustment of the flexible support characteristic in response to user requirements enables the bed-couch (105) to provide an enhanced degree of user comfort.
