An electromagnetic flowmeter assembly is also provided comprising: an insert (110) for insertion into a flow conduit, wherein at least a portion of the insert (110) is formed of a deformable non-ferromagnetic material wherein the insert (110) comprises an inlet section (128), a measuring section and an outlet section (126); at least one reinforcing component (112) surrounding the measuring section of the insert (110) to reinforce the insert (110) against deformation under the application of pressure.
