The invention deals with a quenching chamber applicable in medium-voltage switch disconnectors. The quenching chamber (1) comprises a body (11, 11') made of a gassing material. The body (11,11') is a solid of a shape similar to a rectangular prism having a top wall (2, 202), a bottom wall (3, 203), a front wall (4, 204), a back wall (5, 205) and side walls (6, 206). The chamber comprises an arcing knife channel (17) and an arc chamber (22) hollowed in the body (11, 11') and it is fitted with an arcing contact unit (19) located in a socket (18). The quenching chamber is characterized by the fact that the arc chamber (22) extends directly along the arcing knife channel (17), from the back wall (5, 205) of the chamber (1) and it is connected with the inside of the arcing knife channel (17) through a gap of a width of (s), forming a flat funnel. The height of the funnel (h) in a plane parallel to the surfaces of the side walls (6, 206), decreases with an increase in the distance to the arcing knife channel (17). The width (s) of the gap in a plane perpendicular to the surfaces of the side walls (6, 206) is less than the width of the arcing knife channel measured in a plane perpendicular to the side walls (6,206) of the body (11,11').

The subject of the invention is a rotary switch-disconnector with a double, serial clearance during the disconnection of electric contacts. A rotary switch-disconnector comprises a rotary shaft (1) with at least one bushing (2) with main movable contacts (12) and movable arcing contacts (13), located at the ends of the body (10) of the bushing (2). The frame (3) has attached to it at least one pair of piston insulators (6) containing main fixed contacts (14) placed on the line of revolution of the main movable contacts (12), and fixed arcing contacts (16). Each piston insulator (6) contains a cylinder (7) with a piston (8) which through a tension member (9) is connected in an articulated way with the body (10) of the bushing (2) in a way ensuring a simultaneous movement of the pistons (8) in the cylinders (7) with the revolution of the shaft (1). The inventive switch-disconnector is characterized in that the piston insulator (6) has attached to it a blow-out nozzle (17) comprising a blending chamber (19), a central channel (20) and at least one side channel (22) used to supply and swirl air in the blending chamber (19) when the switch-disconnector is being opened, which chamber is so situated in relation to the piston insulator (6) that the inlet(s) (W1) of the sides channels (22) is(are) connected with the outlet(s) (W3) of internal channels (23) which are connected with the inner surface of the cylinder (7) and are located outside the limits of the inlet (W4) of the movable arcing contact receiving channel (18) which is made in the piston insulator (6).
