Cutouts (25a) are formed in the housing block (20) for providing large openings forwardly of and perpendicular to a mounting surface for mounting the partial wave filter (5) thereon and a mounting surface for mounting a reflecting mirror (15) thereon. In such an optical transmission/reception module, it is possible to maintain the precision with which a partial wave filter (5), which passes a transmission light (λ1) therethrough, and a reflecting member (15), which reflects a reception light (λ2), are mounted to a desired mounting angle at a high level, and to reduce assembly costs.
