The invention concerns a cutoff mechanism (5) of an optical module comprising a cutoff bar (10), a motor (30) driving the cutoff bar (10) between at least first and second positions via a transmission shaft (38) of the motor (30) and a driving means for driving the cutoff bar (10) linked to the transmission shaft (38), a return means (15) that tends to return the cutoff bar (10) to the first position of same, characterised by the fact that the driving means comprises a device (81) for decoupling the movement of the transmission shaft (38) relative to that of the cutoff bar (10) when the cutoff bar (10) reaches the first position. The invention also concerns an optical module comprising such a cutoff mechanism (5).
