摘要： Embodiments of the present invention provide top and bottom clamping of a surgical cassette (150). One embodiment of the present invention includes a surgical cassette adapted for use in a surgical system having a first side (170) (e.g., an inner side) and second side (180) (e.g., an outer side). The surgical cassette, according to one embodiment, comprises a body portion (155,205) configured to interface on its first side with a surgical console (100) during use, a first clamping portion (195) projecting from the top of the body portion configured to contact a first clamp rail (182) on the cassette's second side during use and a second clamping portion (190) projecting from the bottom of the body portion configured to contact a second clamp rail (142) on the cassette's second side during use.

摘要： A mechanism is provided for clamping a surgical cassette (100) in the cassette-receiving portion (14) of a surgical console (200). The mechanism comprises a pair of pivoting clamping bars (40,42) connected to a pneumatic cylinder (22) or an electromechanical actuator (122) through a series of links and an actuator wheel (34) so that extension and retraction of the actuator causes the clamping bars to rotate and counter-rotate. The use of a pneumatic cylinder provides smooth, well-controlled movement of the clamping bars to draw the cassette into the cassette-receiving portion (14).
