摘要: A method of killing a small animal, such as a rodent, wherein the method comprises the steps of:
trapping the animal in a housing of an animal trap;
detecting that the animal is trapped in the trap housing;
in reaction to detecting that the animal is trapped in the trap housing filling at least part of the trap housing with a gas for stunning and killing the animal inside the housing;
wherein the housing is at least partially filled with said gas by supplying a foam into the housing in which the gas is contained;
wherein the foam is generated by a foam generator comprising:
a housing having a circumferential side wall, a first end wall and a second end wall, wherein the second end wall is at least partially formed by a perforated plate comprising a multitude of through-holes;
a spray nozzle being directed towards the second end wall from the direction of the first end wall, and an inlet for an aqueous detergent solution which is connected to said spray nozzle;
a gas outlet for supplying said gas into the housing of the foam generator, and an inlet for said gas which is connected to said gas outlet;
wherein said foam is generated by spraying said aqueous detergent solution through said nozzle against said second end wall with said perforated plate while supplying said gas through said gas outlet,
thereby forming bubbles comprising said gas at the outside of said perforated plate.-
