The object is to provide a construction method of an information-communicable underground pipe whereby communication cables can be readily laid in an underground pipeline having a main pipe and branch pipes branched therefrom thereby allowing the underground pipeline to be used as an information-communicable underground pipe, and to provide a construction structure and a construction member therefor. The construction method of an information-communicable underground pipe comprises inserting a sheath pipe (1) into an underground pipeline (17, 7) through a manhole (9, 10), the sheath pipe having a main body (3) formed with an empty room (2) for installing a communication cable (6) thereinto and a high-strength low-elongation material element (4) integrally formed in the main body (3) along the length of the main body (3), and securing the high-strength low-elongation material element (4) onto the inner wall of said manhole (9, 10) by applying tension thereon to secure the sheath pipe (1) in the substantially upper part inside the underground pipeline (17, 7).

A laying method for laying communication cables (16) is provided which allows to lay optical fiber cables (20) in an underground pipeline such as a sewage pipe neither placing direct tension nor allowing slack on them, and for a main pipe in which a plurality of optical fiber cables (20) are to be laid, the method also allows to lay optical fiber cables (20) in the upper space of inside the pipeline and to obviate the need of an expensive robot for the laying operation. In the proposed laying method, a high-strength low-elongation tension member is disposed to be slidable in the lengthwise direction along each optical fiber cable (20, 21, 22), and the tension members (25, 26, 27) are drawn into the underground pipeline (1) to tension the trunk tension member (25) thereby stretching the trunk tension member (25) substantially straight in the underground pipeline (1), and thus the optical fiber cables (20, 21, 22) are laid in the upper space of inside the underground pipeline (1). Also the branch tension member (26, 27) is tensioned in the branch pipe (4, 5) to lay the optical fiber cables (21, 22) in the branch pipe without allowing slack.

A method of laying a communication cable (16) capable of laying an optical fiber cable (20) in an underground line such as a sewage line without applying a direct tension to the cable and without loosening the cable, capable of laying the optical fiber cables (20) on the upper side of the line for a main line allowing a plurality of optical fiber cables (20) to be laid therein, and eliminating the need for an expensive robot in the laying operation, comprising the steps of disposing highly strong and low extendable tension members (25, 26, 27) slidably in longitudinal direction of the optical fiber cables (20, 21, 22), pulling the tension members (25, 26, 27) into the underground line (1) by pulling, and applying a tension to a trunk tension member (25) between manholes (2) and (3) to stretch the trunk tension member (25) generally linearly in the underground line (1) so as to lay the optical fibers (20, 21, 22) on the upper side of the underground line (1), wherein a tension is applied to the branch tension members (26, 27) in branch pipes (4, 5) so as to prevent the branch optical fiber cables (21, 22) from being loosened in the branch pipes.
