Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin einen elektrischer Flachleiter (40, 60, 80, 100) für Kraftfahrzeuge mit einem Flachleiterkern (42, 62, 82, 102) aus elektrisch leitfähigem Flachleitermaterial und mit einer den Flachleiterkern (42, 62, 82, 102) ummantelnden Isolierung (44, 64, 84, 104) aus einem Isolierstoff, wobei die Höhe (Hk) des Flachleiterkerns (42, 62, 82, 102) geringer ist als die Breite (Bk) des Flachleiterkerns (42, 62, 82, 102) und wobei die Isolierung (44, 64, 84, 104) zumindest abschnittsweise über die Länge des Flachleiters (40, 60, 80, 100) an mindestens einer Seite (46a-b, 48a-b, 68a-b, 86a-b, 88a-b, 106a-b, 108a-b) des Flachleiterkerns (42, 62, 82, 102) eine größere Wandstärke aufweist als an mindestens einer anderen Seite (46a-b, 48a-b, 68a-b, 86a-b, 88a-b, 106a-b, 108a-b) des Flachleiterkerns (42, 62, 82, 102).
