摘要： Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for storing video data in a surveillance system including three or more cameras and a storage service comprising a storage space. The storage space is partitioned into an initial set of allotted portions for storing video data captured over a time period from each of the three or more video cameras. For each camera, a video quality value is set for encoding video captured by the camera. For each camera and at discrete time intervals, it is determined whether maintaining the video quality value would cause the camera to output an expected amount of video data that would exceed the allotted portion of storage space for the camera over the time period. If it is determined for at least one camera that the expected amount of video data would exceed the allotted portion of storage space, the video quality is reduced relative to the current video quality. If it is determined that the video quality from a camera falls below a video quality represented by a video quality threshold value, the storage space is re-partitioned into a new set of allotted portions, in which increased storage space is allotted to the camera having a video quality that falls below the threshold value, and in which decreased storage space is allotted to at least one other camera.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method, video server and system for playing back recorded video. The invention is based on comparing the encoder frame rates at temporal positions of a received video sequence to a predetermined threshold and changing the playback frame rate to a playback frame rate greater than the encoder frame rate if the encoder frame rate is below the predetermined threshold and changing the playback frame rate to the encoder frame rate if the encoder frame rate is greater than the predetermined threshold. Recorded video is thereby played back in a time efficient manner, decreasing the total time period for video playback, and assisting a security operator in finding parts of the recorded video that may be of interest.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method for carrying out a health check of at least two cameras, comprising the steps of initiating a health check process and checking, in response to the initiating step, for motion events stored in a database storing motion events, for each of the two cameras. 摘要： Focusing of a monitoring camera (100) with day and night functionality comprises selecting a focusing day mode or a focusing night mode based on the camera being in day mode or night mode. In focusing day mode, an IR laser range meter (110) will measure a reference distance continuously, and in the focusing night mode the IR laser range meter will only measure reference distance in response to a focus trigger signal being activated, and during a predetermined time period. The focus distance of the camera is set based on the measured reference distance.
