wherein R4 is a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl or a polyfunctional alcohol (b2) selected from glycerol, 1, 3-propylenglycol, 1,2-propylenglycol, ethylenglycol, 1,2-butandiol, 1,4-butandiol, 2,3-butandiol
in the presence of the catalysts lithiumhydroxide and magnesiumoxide (MgO) and optionally sodium hypophosphite. The use of the specific catalyst composition enables an energy-saving more efficient process than standard prior art transesterification processes.
