An isocyanate prepolymer composition and a crosslinked thermoplastic polyurethane composition are disclosed, preferably in the form of a fiber. Also disclosed is the process for preparing said prepolymer composition and crosslinked thermoplastic polyurethane. Both of the isocyanate prepolymer composition and crosslinked thermoplastic polyurethane show improved properties.

A process for producing foamed thermoplastic polyurethane particles comprises the steps of a) melting a thermoplastic polyurethane in a first extruder (E1), b) injecting a gaseous blowing agent in a second extruder (E2), c) impregnating the gaseous blowing agent homogeneously into the thermoplastic polyurethane melt in a third extruder (E3), d) extruding the impregnated thermoplastic polyurethane melt through a die plate and granulating the melt in an underwater granulation device under temperature and pressure conditions to form foamed thermoplastic polyurethane particles.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a bicomponent fiber, comprising i) a first thermoplastic polyurethane component;and ii) a second thermoplastic polyurethane component, which may be the same as or different from component i), with at least one of components i) and ii) crosslinked by a crosslinker to form at least one polymer of polymer i) and polymer ii), of which polymer i) has a melting point of at least 10˚C higher than that of polymer ii), and the fiber size being between 8 denier and 300 denier, more preferably between 10 denier and 100 denier. The bicomponent fibers of the present invention are superior in heat-bonding behavior and recovery, and may be dyeability and chemical-resistance.
