A simple, compact construction and easy manufacture of a swirl nozzle having a plurality of inlet channels and an outlet channel extending transversely thereto are made possible by the fact that the inlet channels open directly and/or tangentially into the outlet channel. Alternatively or additionally, upstream of the inlet channels is provided a filter structure having smaller flow cross-sections than the inlet channels. The swirl nozzle is used, in particular, for atomizing a liquid medicament formulation. The swirl nozzle is produced from two plate-shaped components, the outlet channel first being etched as a blind bore in one component and then opened up by grinding the component away. Alternatively or additionally, the outlet channel is formed in a different component from the inlet channels.

The invention relates to a medicament delivery device, especially a multidose powder inhaler, for delivering individual doses of a medicament. A plurality of medicament compartments (4, 5) are arranged in a medicament carrier in the form of an endless loop. The medicament compartments form groups in such a manner that a mouthpiece (2) reaches different groups by a substantially complete travel around the medicament carrier. Therefore, a plurality of medicament compartments (4, 5), typically one, two or three, can be arranged between two consecutive withdrawal positions. The invention allows provision of a very high density of medicament compartments (4, 5) and thus an inhaler device which can be very compact in design even when accommodating a large number of individual doses.

At least one face of the web of film has openings (4) for transport spikes to engage therewith, thereby allowing the web to be transported. The web of film, in the area of the pouches, has a defined width which is smaller than the width of the film in the remaining areas, the openings being arranged in the wider area of the web of film. The invention also relates to a method and a device for opening said medicament carrier, the device being preferably configured as a segmented wheel.
