摘要: A liquid discharge head comprises heating members for generating thermal energy to create bubbles in liquid, discharge ports forming the portions to discharge the liquid, liquid flow paths communicated with the discharge ports, at the same time, having bubble generation areas for enabling liquid to create bubbles, movable members arranged in the bubble generation areas to be displaced along with the development of the bubbles, and regulating members to regulate the displacement of each of the movable members within a desired range, and with energy at the time of bubble creation, the liquid being discharged from the discharge ports. For this liquid discharge head, each of the liquid flow paths holds bubbles at the time of bubbling, at the same time, being provided with gaps arranged on the sides of the movable member to allow the liquid on the upstream thereof to flow into the bubble generation area at the time of bubble disappearing. With the structure thus arranged, the meniscus is drawn into the liquid flow path quickly immediately after the bubble disappearing of bubble begins, and then, with a strong force of the meniscus, the trailing portion of the liquid column connected with the discharged droplet is cut off outside the discharge port, hence making the number of satellites smaller for the enhancement of the quality of prints.

摘要: A liquid discharge head is provided which allows production of a recorded image of improved quality by controlling the speed of flow of a liquid and the distribution of the speed of flow in a flow path caused in consequence of contraction of bubbles thereby stabilizing the direction of satellites arising behind main drops of discharged liquid and, at the same time, decreasing the amount itself of the satellites. This liquid discharge head comprises a movable separation membrane capable of effecting separation between a first flow path (3) communicating with a discharge port (11) for discharging a liquid and a second flow path (4) furnished with a bubble generating region for generating bubbles in the liquid by means of a heating element (2) and a movable member (26) opposed to the bubble generating region across the movable separation membrane (5) and furnished in the direction of liquid discharge with a free end to guide the displacement of the movable separation membrane induced by the growth of the bubbles in the direction of the discharge port and regulate the shape of displacement of the movable separation membrane as well.

摘要: An ink tank for storing ink supplied to an ink jet recording head comprises an ink tank body, an ink absorbing member inserted in the ink tank body in a compressed state, an atmosphere communicating port for communicating an inner space of the ink tank body with the atmosphere, and an ink supply port coupled to the ink jet recording head and serving as an ink supply port. A corner of the ink absorbing member which would be located near the atmosphere communicating port is cut out, a portion of the ink absorbing member around the cutout area is partly released in a degree of compression as compared with the other portion thereof under the state where the ink absorbing member is inserted in the ink tank body in a compressed state, and a space area is formed between the cutout area of the ink absorbing member and the atmosphere communicating port. The ink absorbing member is prevented from entering a buffer chamber, the ink impregnated in the ink absorbing member is uniformly supplied to the recording head, and the ink is prevented from leaking to the outside even if the cartridge is subjected to a thermal impact or a pressure reduced state.

摘要: Liquid is discharged at a high frequency in a consecutive manner with a liquid discharge head having a movable member 11. A bubble 40 formed for discharge a first discharged droplet 66a grows large into a discharge port 4 side by the movable 11 substantially closing a common liquid chamber 6 side in a bubble forming procedure, and disappears fast at the common liquid chamber 6 side by the movable member 11 releasing the common liquid chamber 6 side of a flow path 3 in a bubble disappearance procedure, and reaches a state to remain at the discharge port 4 side of a heat-generating body 10. Under this state, since the bubble 40 disappears at the common liquid chamber 6 side, a constant liquid is refilled to reach the discharge port 4 side, and the bubble 40 does not yet completely disappear, a meniscus is disposed comparatively closer to a liquid discharge face. Under the circumstances, if discharge of a second discharged droplet 66b is arranged to start from this state, the liquid can be discharged well at a short interval in a consecutive manner.
