摘要： An image forming apparatus includes image forming means for forming an image on a recording material (1); a high voltage electric power source (18) for supplying power to the image forming means; a process cartridge (14) comprising storing means (15) for storing information related to image formation; and information inputting/outputting means for inputting the information into the storing means (15), or outputting it therefrom, by accessing the storing means, wherein the inputting/outputting means access the storing means when the high voltage electric power source (18) is not in operation. Hence noise generated by the high voltage electric power source does not interfere with the information signal.

摘要： A process cartridge (14) detachably mountable to a main assembly (15) of an image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member; and storing means (18) for storing information which a user inputs using input means (16) of the main assembly of the image forming apparatus, or an external device connected to the main assembly of the image forming apparatus. The information can be compressed before being written in the storing means. The information can also be represented by an identification code and inputted via a guidance software. In case of trouble data indicative of said trouble can be read from the storing means.
