摘要： A method of making a lapped fibrous insulation is provided which includes the steps of conveying a cured binder-impregnated mat of fibers, the mat having a thickness, a longitudinal length and transverse ends. The method further includes providing a plurality of spaced, perhaps every 24 inches to 120 inches, transverse cuts through at least a portion of the thickness of the mat, and lapping the mat of fibers in opposite directions to fold said mat into a generally sinous configuration, having a series of continuous lengths wherein at least one of the transverse cuts is aligned with at least one of the folded regions for assisting in making the mat of fibers easier to fold during the lapping step. A fibrous insulation material in the form of a lapped roll in accordance with this invention is also provided.
