摘要: A method of on-demand energy delivery to an active suspension system comprising an actuator body, hydraulic pump, electric motor, plurality of sensors, energy storage facility, and controller is provided. The method comprises disposing an active suspension system in a vehicle between a wheel mount and a vehicle body, detecting a wheel event requiring control of the active suspension; and sourcing energy from the energy storage facility and delivering it to the electric motor in response to the wheel event.

摘要: A regenerative shock absorber (10) that include a housing (22) and a piston (26) that moves at least partially through the housing (22) when the shock (10) is compressed or extended from a rest position. When the piston (26) moves, hydraulic fluid is pressurized and drives a hydraulic motor (14). The hydraulic motor (14), in turn, drives an electric generator (18) that produced electric energy. The electric energy may be provided to a vehicle, among other things. The regenerative shock absorber (10) may also provide ride performance that comparable to that of conventional shock absorbers.

摘要: A shock absorber (10) comprising a housing (22) that includes a compression volume (23) and an extension volume (25); a piston (26) disposed in the housing and that in a first mode moves through at least a portion of a compression stroke to pressurize hydraulic fluid in the compression volume and that in a second mode moves at least partially through an extension stroke to pressurize hydraulic fluid in the extension volume; a hydraulic motor (14) including a first port (30) in fluid communication with the compression volume and a second port (32) in fluid communication with the extension volume; a reservoir (16); and one or more valves (12) configured to maintain fluid communication between the reservoir and a low pressure side of the hydraulic motor; wherein the hydraulic motor is configured and arranged to be operated as a hydraulic pump in at least one mode of operation of the shock absorber.
