The shell has a collapsible groove that, when the post-less coaxial cable connector is axially compressed, collapses and engages the coaxial cable. This provides pull strength and electrical communication in the post-less coaxial cable connector. The compression ring has projections, that when the post-less coaxial cable connector is axially compressed, engage the coaxial cable jacket, providing sealing at the back end and rotation torque.

摘要: A coaxial connector for coupling an end of a coaxial cable to a terminal is disclosed. The coaxial cable connector includes a body, a retainer, a coupler, a ferrule, and a shell. The retainer engages the body and rotatably engages the coupler. The ferrule slidingly engages at least a portion of the retainer and at least one portion of the body. The ferrule engages at least a portion of the cable outer conductor. The shell slidingly engages at least a portion of the rear end of the body. A sealing ring engages the rear end of the body. Upon compression of the coaxial cable connector the sealing ring engages the jacket of the coaxial cable.

摘要: Coaxial cables and coaxial cable connectors are disclosed. In one embodiment, a connector includes a body portion having a first end and a second end and defining a bore, a contact member having a circumferential portion and at least one protruding member, an inner sleeve, a rotatable coupling nut, and a conductor retaining member. The at least one protruding member protrudes from the circumferential portion toward the second end of the body portion and within the bore. The rotatable coupling nut is rotatably coupled to the inner sleeve and electrically coupled to the contact member. The conductor retaining member is centrally disposed within the inner sleeve, and is configured to receive an inner conductor of the co-axial cable such that the inner conductor is free to pass through the conductor retaining member in a first direction, and restricted from passing through the conductor retaining member in a second direction.

The disclosed connectors and methods may secure an outer surface of the cable (e.g., an outer jacket of a cable) or conduit. A connector, for example, may include a coupler comprising an inner surface defining an coupler inner bore; a retainer comprising an inner surface defining a retainer inner bore configured to receive the inner conductor and insulator layer of a coaxial cable and an outer angled rear facing surface configured to extend between the insulator layer and the outer conductor layer of the coaxial cable, the retainer disposed within the inner bore of the coupler; a hub engaged to the retainer and disposed at least partially within the inner bore of the coupler, the hub rotatably engaged with the coupler, the hub further comprising an outer angled forward facing surface at least partially opposing the outer angled rear facing surface of the retainer, wherein the outer angled rear facing surface of the retainer and the outer angled forward facing surface of the hub are configured to secure the outer conductor layer between the outer angled rear facing surface of the retainer and the outer angled forward facing surface of the hub.
