摘要: In a self-cleaning filter assembly (10), a filter element (31) is fixed within a housing (17) and spaced from the peripheral wall (21) thereof by an annular solids collection space (34) in turn communicating with a solids outlet (63). An inlet (56) introduces pressurized liquid to be filtered circumferentially into the solids collection space. A shower assembly (81) rotates and includes an eccentric portion (83) having jets (91) aimed outward close to the inner surface of the filter element. Backwash liquid enters the rotating shower assembly under pressure for continuously pushing solids off the outer surface of the filter element as the shower assembly circumferentially advances. Filtrate from inside the filter element passes through a filtrate outlet from the housing. A solids outlet valve (163) responds to a preselected increase in liquid pressure differential between the inlet and filtrate outlet to increase venting of the annular solids collection space. A filtrate outlet valve (181) may simultaneously close to direct all liquid flow out the solids outlet.
