摘要: A method and an apparatus for digital panoramic imaging in the head region of a patient is proposed. The apparatus comprises an X-ray source and X-ray sensor (12) as well as a control unit for processing the frames (14) provided by the sensor (12), in particular for performing a shift-and-add-operation on the frames (14) for generating a digital panoramic image of a focal plane (34) situated in a dental arch of the patient (2). In the digital shift-and-add operation, the frames (14) are weighted by weighting coefficients obtained from a weighting function (42) having, along a line extending across the frame (14)in the moving direction of the sensor (12), a maximum in a central region of the frame (14) and smaller values towards the edge of the frame (14), thus reducing the effective width of the sensor (12). The modulation of the effective width of the sensor (12) can be used for varying the width of the sharply imaged panoramic layer.

摘要: X-ray apparatus for digital radiography with a rotating arm where the X-ray source and X-ray sensor cassette are opposite mounted. The source has a primary collimator to adjust the X-ray beam size according to the selected imaging modality. The sensor cassette encloses a first X-ray detector for a first imaging mode, while a second X-ray detector for a second imaging mode is detachably mounted on the external side of the sensor cassette. The sensor cassette accommodates a second collimator to create a fan shaped X-ray beam for a third imaging modality. The sensor cassette has a linear motorized movement which is used for: - alignment of the X-ray beam with respect to the first and second detector; - positioning of the first detector in the first imaging mode to achieve an extended view; - scanning movement during the third imaging modality synchronized with the horizontal movement of a third X-ray detector.
