Abstract: The invention relates to a method for applying a protective coating to returnable glass containers comprising the steps of transporting the glass containers by means of a conveyor line, providing a supply of coating liquid, feeding the coating to a spray means positioned at a coating station of the conveyor line, applying the coating liquid onto the outside of the glass containers on the conveyor line by means of the spray means.
