A method for modelling kinematic seismic data processed with at least one motion operator, wherein the mid-point (N1) of a transmitter (S)/receiver (R) system is determined, a ray tracing for the system is established relative to a given reflector, the ray parameters are processed using a motion operator to provide a first arrival point (N'1) located on the model, the position deviation ( DELTA E) between the reference points (N) and the point (N'1) is determined and compared with a predetermined deviation ( DELTA e), and an iteration is performed on each new arrival point (N'i) until the deviation ( DELTA E) is the same as or smaller than the predetermined deviation ( DELTA e). The method is particularly useful in tomography.

A method for representing the path of one or more boreholes in a spatial and temporal domain, characterised in that it includes the steps of: (a) developing a velocity-depth model (4) keyed with said borehole (1), geologically representative of said zone and including a representation of said borehole path (5); (b) selecting one or more points (A) on or adjacent to said path, said point (A) being defined by its spatial co-ordinates and by at least a pair of dip/azimuth data; and (c) at least modelling in a synthetic sum domain (9) the image (a) of the selected point (A), wherein said image (a) is defined by the spatial and temporal co-ordinates and by a dip/time vector, and is obtained by projecting a zero offset ray in the velocity/depth model (4).
