摘要: A fail-safe ground fault (GF) circuit interrupter (2) includes separable contacts (SCs) (4); operating mechanism (OM) (6); and GF trip circuit (8) including analog GF circuit (10) having power supply input (12), and a number of: (a) GF current transformer (CT) (16), first resistor (18) in series with the GF CT, capacitor (20) in parallel with this series combination, and second resistor (22) between the power supply input and a common connection point (24) between the first resistor and the capacitor, (b) trip actuator (28) cooperating with the OM, and zener diode (30) including cathode (32) interconnected with the power supply input and anode (34) interconnected with the trip actuator, (c) trip solenoid (38) cooperating with the OM, bi-directional light emitting diode (LED) (40), and resistor (42) in series with the LED, this series combination in parallel with the trip solenoid, and (d) first silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) (46) cooperating with the OM, and second SCR (48) cooperating with the OM, the second SCR in parallel with the first SCR.

摘要: A receptacle for a power circuit includes a receptacle housing, a line terminal structured to receive a voltage including one of a nominal voltage and a greater excessive voltage, a load terminal, a neutral terminal, a load neutral terminal, separable contacts electrically connected between the line and load terminals, an operating mechanism structured to open and close the separable contacts, and a trip mechanism cooperating with the operating mechanism to trip open the separable contacts. The trip mechanism includes a trip circuit structured to detect a first trip condition associated with the power circuit and to responsively actuate the operating mechanism to trip open the separable contacts. The trip mechanism also includes an overvoltage circuit structured to detect a sustained excessive voltage condition between the at least one neutral terminal and the line or the load terminals and to responsively actuate the operating mechanism to trip open the separable contacts.
