摘要: A replacement mitral valve prosthesis includes a support structure and a valve body having three flexible leaflets. The support structure preferably includes an internal valve frame and an external sealing frame. The valve frame supports the flexible leaflets. The sealing frame is adapted to conform to the shape of the native mitral valve annulus. The sealing frame may be coupled to an inlet end of the valve frame, an outlet end of the valve frame, or both. A plurality of anchors are coupled to the outlet end of the valve frame. The anchors extend radially outwardly for placement behind native leaflets. The prosthesis preferably includes a skirt disposed along an exterior of the external sealing frame. The prosthesis is collapsible for delivery into the heart via a delivery catheter. The prosthesis is configured to self-expand for deployment in the heart when released from the delivery catheter.

摘要: Embodiments of an apparatus, and a method for crimping expandable stents or prosthetic valves having a radially expandable and compressible annular body and one or more protruding anchors extending from the body using the apparatus, where the apparatus comprise a housing, a plurality of circumferentially arranged nesting jaws, and an actuator configured to move the jaws radially inwardly to reduce the size of the crimping aperture, thereby radially compressing the annular body of the prosthetic valve or stent. In particular embodiments, a selected set of the jaws, each having a front side and a recessed portion in its front side adjacent to its inner end. The recessed portions of the selected jaws collectively are sized and shaped to receive the one or more anchors of the prosthetic valve when the annular body is positioned within the crimping aperture.

摘要: In one representative embodiment, a prosthetic valve assembly for replacing a native heart valve comprises a radially expandable and compressible support structure, the support structure comprising an annular frame having a lumen extending from an inflow end to an outflow end, the support structure further comprising an annular sealing member extending radially inwardly into the lumen of the frame and having an inner peripheral portion defining an orifice, and a radially expandable and compressible valve component, the valve component comprising an annular frame and a valve structure supported inside of the frame for permitting the flow blood through the valve component in one direction and blocking the flow of blood in the opposite direction, wherein the valve component is configured to expand within the orifice of the sealing member and engage the inner peripheral portion of the sealing member when radially expanded.

The expandable frame can include a frame body and a supplemental frame. The valve body can include a plurality of leaflets and one or more intermediate components. The one or more intermediate components can couple at least a portion of the leaflets to the expandable frame. The prosthesis can include an annular flap positioned around an exterior of the expandable frame.
