摘要： A lenght of tape (10) has a plurality of pockets (12) formed along its length. Located in each pocket (12) is a saw blade tip (18), each saw blade tip (18) having a carbide backing (20) to which is bonded a PCD layer (22). Each tip (18) is correctly orientated within each pocket (12), typically with a cutting edge (24) being located at the forward end (28) of the pocket (12) and facing down and into the pocket (12). When it is necessary to braze tips (18) to a saw blade, the tape (10) will be moved forward one pocket. A cover tape (30) is simultaneously peeled back from the pocket (12) so as to expose one correctly oriented saw blade tip (18), which is immediately ready to be brazed. When the tip (18) has been brazed into position, another pocket (12) is moved forward and the process repeated.
