摘要: The present disclosure relates to a medication delivery device. In one arrangement, the device comprises a device body. A dose setting member is attached to said device body and rotatable relative to said device body about an axis of rotation during dose delivery. A sensed element is rotationally fixed with said dose setting member, said sensed element including alternating first and second surface features radially-spaced about the axis of rotation of said dose setting member. Said sensed element and said dose setting member rotate relative to said device body during dose delivery in relation to an amount of dose delivered. A rotation sensor includes a light source emitting sensing light in an axial direction during dose delivery, and a light sensor positioned to receive the sensing light during dose delivery. The light source and the light sensor are axially disposed relative to one another, wherein in response to rotation of said sensed element during dose delivery the alternating first and second surface features are positioned directly between the light source and the light sensor in a path of the sensing light to vary light intensities detected by the light sensor. An electronics assembly responsive to the rotation sensor determines the amount of rotation of the sensed element based on detection of the varying light intensities.

The dose detection system comprises a module including a rotation sensor attached to the actuator during dose delivery. A sensed element is attached to the dose setting member and includes first gear teeth. The rotation sensor comprises a driven gear including second gear teeth. The second gear teeth are operatively received by the first gear teeth and are driven in rotation as the first gear teeth rotate during dose delivery. The rotation sensor is responsive to the rotation of the second gear teeth to detect the rotation of the dose setting member.

摘要: A medication cartridge plunger including a sealing member, which is formed of a resilient material, and a force distributing member, which is attached to sealing member and formed of a material more rigid than the resilient material. The force distributing member is shaped complementary with the sealing member to distribute to the sealing member a medication expelling force that may be applied to the force distributing member by an external drive element to drive the plunger forward. The radial periphery has a plurality of apex regions connected by spanning regions, which apex regions are disposed along a common circle centered on an axial center of the medication cartridge plunger. The spanning regions are disposed within the common circle, and each apex region, relative to the common circle, is not in diametric alignment with any of the other apex regions.

摘要: Medication delivery devices are provided having a dose delivery sensing capability. A sensed element is attached to a dose setting member of the device. The sensed element includes surface features radially-spaced from one another. A rotational sensor is attached to an actuator of the device. The rotational sensor includes a movable element that is contactable against the surface features. The rotational sensor is configured to generate a signal in response to the movement of the movable element over the surface features during their rotation. A controller is operatively coupled to the rotational sensor, and in response to receiving the generated signal, the controller is configured to determine a number of the surface features passing the movable element of the rotational sensor during dose delivery. The number can be associated with an amount of dose delivered. Sensing can be provided in a module or integrated in device.
