摘要： The present invention concerns a thermowell (3) for use with an apparatus (1) for determining and/or monitoring a process variable of a medium (M) in a vessel or pipe (2) comprising a tubular element (4) having a first end section (4a), a second end section (4b) with a closed end, and a hollow space (5) defined by an inner cross-sectional surface (s) and a predeterminable height (h) parallel to a longitudinal axis (A) of the tubular element (4), which hollow space (5) serves for receiving a measuring insert (6) for determining and/or monitoring the process variable, and a fastening unit (7),which fastening unit (7) serves for mounting the thermowell (3) to the vessel or pipe (2) such that the tubular element (4) at least partially extends into an inner volume of the vessel or pipe (2). According to the present invention, the thermowell (3) is at least partially constructed such, that an outer cross-sectional surface (S) at least partially, in particular at least in the second end section (4b), has an airfoil shape. Further, the present invention concerns an apparatus (1) for determining and/or monitoring a process variable of a medium (M) in a vessel or pipe (2), comprising at least one thermowell (3) according to the present invention.
