摘要: A restaurant emissions abatement system is disclosed which employs a rotary heat regenerative thermal or catalytic oxidizer (10). Thus, heat which normally would be exhausted into the atmosphere, is recovered by being transferred to incoming unoxidized restaurant emissions. The rotary oxidizers may be of a variety of designs including orientations which allow for perpendicular or axial flow of the emissions stream through the rotary oxidizer relative to the axis of rotation. The rotary design of the oxidizers also provides an advantage of permitting in-situ cleaning of the oxidizer (i.e., not having to remove oxidizer from abatement system) by simply lowering the speed of the oxidizer's rotation or stopping rotation altogether to permit hot gases to thoroughly oxidize accumulations of such contaminants as greases and fats.

摘要: A rotary regenerative catalytic oxidizer is disclosed which is a portable, compact system that catalytically destroys VOC and odorous compounds at elevated temperatures of 400 to 800° F. Equipped with a very high thermally efficient rotor of 90+%, most heat for reaction is retained in the apparatus, and the cleaned air at temperatures of 80 to 120 F. is safely discharged into room without causing discomfort. As a portable unit, it can be conveniently used to treat local areas where odorous and/or hazardous VOC and CO compounds are present and conveniently run off household 120V or 220V systems.

摘要: A combustor for supporting the catalytic combustion of gaseous carbonaceous fuel contains a catalyst zone in which is disposed a catalyst body comprising at least one catalyst member, a separator zone comprising a separator body and a downstream zone where homogeneous combustion occurs. The catalyst member contains a carrier and a catalyst material deposited thereon. The catalyst body may, optionally, contain additional catalyst members downstream of the at least one catalyst member. The separator body contains a carrier-type monolith containing ceramic fibers in a matrix. One of the optional additional catalyst members may also contain such a monolith on which the catalyst composition is disposed.

摘要: A system for the abatement of industrial process gases utilizes a rotary regenerative oxidizer (10) comprised of one or more heat exchange beds (14), each bed comprised of a parallel, axial, and longitudinal array of heat regenerative channels that thermally and/or catalytically oxidize contaminated gases. Utilizing a rotary regenerative oxidizer, and if desired, a plurality of heat regenerative beds incorporated therein, facilitates the use of regenerative technology at lower gas flow rates, increases thermal efficiency and significantly reduces the floor space normally required when implementing fixed-bed nonrotary regenerative oxidizers. The heat exchange channels may be catalytically treated to enhance oxidation of the pollutants at a lower temperature.
