Abstract:
The invention relates to an insertion device for applying an infusion set (2) to the body (11) of a patient. The insertion device has two actuation members (6, 6a, 6b, 7), which have to be actuated simultaneously to trigger the insertion movement by which the cannula (5) of the infusion set (2) is introduced into the body (11). One of the two actuation members (7) is designed as a securing slide (7), which forms a contact face (10) to be placed on the body (11) of the patient for application of the infusion set (2) and which can be actuated by means of the insertion device being pressed with the contact face (10) onto the body (11) of the patient. The inventive design of the insertion device considerably reduces the danger of accidental triggering of the insertion device when ready for application, and thus considerably reduces the chance of the user sustaining an injury.
Abstract:
A rack positioning system (100) for positioning a consumable rack (10, 10', 10") in an automated in vitro diagnostic system (200) is disclosed. The rack positioning system (100) comprises a consumable rack (10, 10', 10") comprising an upper surface (11), the upper surface (11) comprising a plurality of consumable holding positions (12), and a rack receiving compartment (20) comprising a fixedly mounted chassis (30) of substantially rectangular shape, comprising a front side (33a), a rear side (33c) and two lateral sides (33b, 33c), the rack receiving compartment (20) further comprising a rack holding structure (40) movably coupled to the chassis (30) such as to be movable between at least a first position (X) and a second position (X-Δ) relative to the chassis (30). The consumable rack (10, 10', 10") has a substantially squared shape with the upper surface (11) having a substantially squared shape and a center (17), the consumable rack (10, 10', 10") further comprising sidewalls (13a, 13b, 13c, 13d) on respective sides of the rack (10, 10', 10"), wherein at least three rack sidewalls (13a, 13b, 13c, 13d) each comprise a rack alignment element (16a, 16b, 16c, 16d) substantially aligned with the center (17). The chassis (30) comprises three chassis alignment elements (36b, 36c, 36d), each arranged at a fixed position of the rear side (33c) and each of the two lateral sides (33b, 33d) respectively. The consumable rack holding structure (40) comprises a rack push element (45) arranged at a corner between the chassis front side (33a) and a chassis lateral side (33b) such as to push against a side edge (14a) of the rack (10, 10', 10") between two rack sidewalls (13a, 13b) when the rack holding structure (40) is moved from the first position (X) towards the second position (X-Δ), thereby forcing each of three rack alignment elements (16b, 16c, 16d) against a respective chassis alignment element (36b, 36c, 36d) and laterally holding the consumable rack (10, 10', 10") in a fixed position delimited by the three chassis alignment elements (36b, 36c, 36d). An automated in vitro diagnostic system (200) comprising the rack positioning system (100) is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Infusion systems for pumping fluid into a body of a user, and methods for providing infusion systems, are disclosed. The infusion systems include an infusion pump, wherein the infusion pump comprises an infusion pump housing including a cavity. A fluid storage is removably inserted into the cavity of the infusion pump housing wherein, the fluid storage comprises a cartridge and an adapter connected to the cartridge such that the adapter encases the cartridge, and an infusion set is removably connected to the fluid storage.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an infusion set for introducing liquid medicaments into the body of a patient. The infusion set comprises a first structural part (1) with a cannula (2) protruding from it, and a second structural part (3) with a connection port (4) for the connector (5) of a supply line (6). The first structural part (1) and the second structural part (3) are designed in such a way, and connected to each other in such a way, that they are inseparable and are able to rotate relative to each other and, in each relative position of rotation, form a channel (7) for delivering a liquid from the connection port (4) to the cannula (2) or for withdrawing a liquid from the cannula (2) to the connection port (4). In addition, the connection port (4) is arranged on the second structural part (3) in such a way that the coupling and uncoupling of the connector (5) in each case take place in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the cannula (2). By means of the invention, it is possible to make available infusion sets which offer a high level of comfort to the wearer and which at the same time are safe against operating errors.
Abstract:
