摘要: A filter seal (141) for a cylindrical air filter (140) includes a polyurethane member which is configured with two primary portions (141a, 155). One portion (141a) is an annular body which is formed with an annular receiving channel (154), which is sized to receive one end of a corresponding filter element (142). The other portion (155) is an annular sealing lip disposed in spaced relation to the receiving channel (154). This sealing lip includes a ribbed, radial-sealing surface and a convex, axial-sealing surface (164). The radial-sealing surface provides sealing contact with an outlet portion of the housing by means of tension while axial sealing is achieved by compression of the axial-sealing surface against a generally planar surface of the housing. In addition to these two modes of sealing engagement, differential pressure forces cause the sealing lip to press tightly against the housing to enhance the sealing.
