The invention relates to an aqueous nail varnish composition comprising a mixture of: at least one aqueous suspension (A) of hard nanoparticles of an acrylic polymer having a glass transition temperature of greater than or equal to 55 °C, combined with at least one solvent that can coalesce and/or plasticise said polymer; and at least one aqueous suspension (B) of nanoparticles of partially-crosslinked acrylic monomers having a film formation temperature of less than 15 °C. The aqueous composition can also contain a solution (C) of an acrylic polymer having a low molecular mass of less than approximately 20,000 and a high acid value, said solution being neutralised at a pH of between approximately 7 and 8.5.
