摘要： An internal combustion engine assembly for a motor vehicle is provided. The engine assembly comprising: an engine (101); an electric motor (102); and a balance shaft (108) comprising an eccentric mass, wherein the electric motor (102) is configured to selectively rotate the balance shaft (108) in order to balance a vibration characteristic of the engine (101). A method of operating the engine assembly is also provided.
