摘要： A method and apparatus for feeding solid fuel such as coal or peat into a pressurized boiler, dryer or other similar pressurized space. The method uses as the fuel feeder a rotating cylinder/ram piston feeder comprising two feed cylinders (3). The goal of the invention is accomplished by reducing the pressure in the gate feed cylinder (3) prior to moving the feed cylinder to the position corresponding to the pressure level preceding the filling step of the cylinder and then keeping the cylinder pressure at a reduced pressure level during the transfer step between the filling step and the connection step for discharging into the pressurized space and, after the transfer step, finally elevating the cylinder pressure just prior to the connection for discharging into the pressurized space.
