摘要: Optical fiber cable 1 is composed of an optical fiber core 3, a tension member 7, an outer sheath 11, and so forth. The optical fiber core 3 comprises a glass wire and a resin-coated part, which is further coated by a transparent member 5 on its outer periphery. The transparent member 5 is, for example, urethane acrylate, PVC, nylon, and so forth. The transparent member 5 preferably has a total light transmittance, defined by JIS K7361-1, of 60% or higher. The reason is that when the total light transmittance is less than 60%, the color tone of the optical fiber core 3 (transparent member 5) becomes intense and stands out. Additionally, it is preferable that the total light transmittance of the transparent member 5 is 80% or more.

摘要: To provide a method for manufacturing an intermittent bonding type optical fiber ribbon, which can also be used for manufacturing with high linear velocity, and the intermittent bonding type optical fiber ribbon.
The present invention is a method for manufacturing an intermittent bonding type optical fiber ribbon 2 which is capable of conveniently forming non-connection portions 4 and intermittent connection portions 3 between adjacent coated optical fibers 1 formed into an optical fiber ribbon by performing a laser processing for the ribbon through the irradiation with the pulse laser light, thereby making it possible to rapidly form the intermittent connection portions 3 and the non-connection portions 4 while maintaining high linear velocity of the coated optical fiber 1 or a high speed of application of a resin composition applied to connect the adjacent coated optical fibers 1 to each other. Further, the non-connection portions 4 and the intermittent connection portions 3 are formed in the obtained optical fiber ribbon 1 through the irradiation with the pulse laser light, such that the optical fiber ribbon 1 becomes the intermittent bonding type optical fiber ribbon 2, which is capable of securing operability during collective connection and surely being subjected to an intermediate branching without damaging cable characteristics during high density mounting.

摘要: Provided are an optical fiber ribbon and an optical fiber cable which prevent cracks of a connection and detachment of the connection from a colored optical fiber core when the optical fiber cable is subjected to repetitive ironing and which does not impair characteristics of the cable at the time of high-density cabling.
In the present invention, an optical fiber ribbon 2 is intermittently connected in a length direction by an intermittent connection 3 which includes a polyol having a weight-average molecular weight of 3000 to 4000 in a specific amount relative to the entire intermittent connection 3 and which has Young's modulus at 23°C within a specific range. Therefore, when collectively unitizing optical fiber ribbons 2 to form an optical fiber cable, the present invention provides an optical fiber ribbon 2 which maintains advantages of the optical fiber ribbon 2 and which prevents cracks of the intermittent connection 3 and detachment of the intermittent connection 3 from a colored optical fiber core 1 when the cable is subjected to repetitive ironing. The present invention also provides an optical fiber cable provided with the optical fiber ribbon 2.

摘要: An indoor cable 1 is composed of an optical fiber core 3, tension members 7, an outer sheath 11, and so forth. The optical fiber core 3 and the tension members 7 are integrated by the outer sheath 11. The outer sheath is composed of a transparent material. The optical fiber core 3 comprises a glass wire and a resin coating (a primary resin layer and a secondary resin layer). The optical fiber core 3 of the present invention does not have a colored layer that is conventionally formed on the outer periphery of the resin coating layer. That is, the optical fiber core 3 is composed entirely of transparent materials. On both sides of the optical fiber core 3, separate from the optical fiber core 3, is arranged a pair of tension members 7. The tension members 7 are composed of transparent materials.
