    摘要： It is intended to provide position information in a location where it is difficult for radio waves to penetrate. An indoor transmitter is capable of programmably changing a format of a transmitter signal. A process to be performed by a position information providing apparatus comprises the step (S610) of acquiring a received positioning signal, and the step (S612) of identifying an emission source of the positioning signal, wherein, if the emission source of the positioning signal is an outdoor source, the process further comprises the step (S622) of acquiring a navigation message included in the positioning signal, and the step (S624) of performing a processing for calculating a position based on the signal, or, if the emission source of the positioning signal is an indoor source, the process further comprises the step (S632) of acquiring message data from the positioning signal, the step (S634) of acquiring coordinate values from the data, and the step (S650) of displaying position information based on the coordinate values.

The process executed by a positional information providing apparatus includes the steps of: obtaining a received positioning signal (S610); specifying an emission source of the positioning signal (S612); obtaining, when the emission source of the positioning signal is outdoors, a navigation message included in the positioning signal (S622); executing a process for calculating the position based on the signal (S624); obtaining, when the emission source of the positioning signal is indoors, message data from the positioning signal (S630); obtaining coordinate values from the data (S632); and displaying positional information based on the coordinate values (S650).

    摘要： Provided is a position information providing system which can reduce a time required for acquiring position information. An indoor transmitter (200-1) is adapted to provide position information by using a second positioning signal compatible with a first positioning signal which is a spread spectrum signal from each of a plurality of satellites. The indoor transmitter (200-1) includes an EEPROM (243) which stores therein position data for identifying an installation location thereof, an FPGA (245) operable to generate a second positioning signal including the position data as a spread spectrum signal, and a transmitting section (251 to 258) operable to transmit the spread spectrum signal. The second positioning signal is generated to repeat the same content in a cycle shorter than that of the first positioning signal.
