摘要： A method includes applying a material coating (12) to a surface (14) of a machine component, wherein the material coating (12) is formed from a combination of a hardfacing material (20) and aluminum-containing particles (18). The method also includes thermally treating the material coating (12) to generate an oxide layer (24) comprising aluminum from the aluminum-containing particles (18), wherein the oxide layer (24) is configured to reduce oxidation of the hardfacing material (20).
