摘要： A mechanical lifter arm adapted to engage a large refuse or rcycling bin by fork (22) and suction cups (23) and raise and invert the bin for emptying into a truck to which the arm is attached by main frame (3). The lifter arm is actuated by a hydraulic ram (6) operable on a primary arm (4) by way of a primary four bar linkage (11) defined by links between pivot points (9, 14, 16 and 12) to pivot the primary arm (4) about pivot point (9). A secondary arm (5) is pivotally mounted to the primary arm (4) and controlled by a secondary four bar linkage (19) defined by links between pivot points (12, 16, 18 and 20). The geometry of the primary and secondary four bar linkages provides a slow speed commencement and ending to the lifting operation with a relatively high speed movement of the bin therebetween.

摘要： In a large wheeled bin (1) of the type commonly used for refuse collection a vertical divider (4) is inserted dividing the bin into two compartments (5 and 6) for the collection of different types of recyclable material. The planar divider (4) has lugs (8) protruding through holes in the side walls (9) of the bin, the lugs being secured by caps (10) engaged over the lugs. A description of the barbed engagement of the caps (10) with the lugs (8) is given together with an embodiment in which there are no caps (8) but the divider is held in place by deformation of the side walls (9) due to a convex profile on the lower edge of the divider (4).

摘要： A collection vehicle (1) for recyclable elements such as paper, glass and cans whereby a collection bin divided into compartments is automatically lifted by a mechanical arm (4) and up-ended over collection chutes aligned with the compartments. Elements, eg: paper, from one compartment are delivered to a storage zone (10) extending across one level of the vehicle while elements, eg: glass and cans, from the other compartment are delivered to another storage zone (11) extending across the vehicle at a different level. In this way even weight distribution is achieved within the vehicle. A removable cover for the bin, operable from the arm (4) is also described, configured to hold the contents within the bin until aligned with the collection chutes.
