    摘要: In an apparatus for controlling an outboard motor (10) having an internal combustion engine (30) to power a propeller (60), and a torque converter (44) interposed between the engine and a drive shaft (42) and equipped with a lockup clutch (44d), it is configured to have a throttle opening detector (80, 94, S12) that detects throttle opening TH of a throttle valve (38) of the engine, a throttle opening change amount calculator (94, S14) that calculates a change amount DTH of the calculated throttle opening, and a clutch ON unit (94, S20 to S28) that makes the lockup clutch ON when the calculated change amount is equal to or greater than a predetermined value DTHref, and keeps the lockup clutch ON during a predetermined time period (tm). With this, it becomes possible to improve acceleration performance immediately after the engine speed is accelerated.

It can mitigate a deceleration feel generated when the gear position is changed upon the completion of the acceleration and prevent the pitching occurrence.
