摘要:
Cam phasing systems and methods are provided. In particular, a cam phasing system is provided that includes a reduced number of components when compared to current mechanical cam phasing systems. The cam phasing system includes a helix locking design that is configured to frictionally lock an helix rod during cam torque pulses.

Systems and methods for varying a rotational relationship between a cam shaft and a crank shaft on an internal combustion engine (i.e., cam phasing) are provided. In particular, systems and methods are provided that facilitates a rotary position of a first component (18) to be accurately controlled with a mechanism causing a second component (14), which can be coupled to the cam shaft or crank shaft, to follow the rotary position of the first component (18).

A solenoid can include an armature, a tube including a ferromagnetic tube material, and an armature stabilizing element. The tube can have a radial tube wall with a thickness of less than about 1 mm.

Systems and methods for filter orientation on a control valve are provided. In particular, systems and methods are provided for rotationally orienting a filter retention feature with respect to an application fluid passageway to control forces and stresses exerted on the filter retention feature. Additionally, methods for manufacturing a control valve are provided that enable a rotational relationship between a filter retention feature and an application fluid passageway to be constrained.

A control system for varying cylinder valve timing of an internal combustion engine is provided. The control system includes a cam phase actuator having first and second actuator ports to adjust a rotational phase of a camshaft relative to a crankshaft, a first control valve, a second control valve, and a dynamic regeneration valve. In one embodiment, the dynamic regeneration valve is configured to enable the cam phase actuator to switch between operating in an oil pressure actuated mode and a cam torque actuated mode when adjusting the rotational phase of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft.
